COVID-19

We're here to help.

We are closely monitoring COVID-19 (Coronavirus) information.  Ensuring the safety and security of our customers and employees will always be a top priority for us.  In light of recent events surrounding COVID-19, we want to provide you with some helpful banking tips, an update regarding our efforts, and trusted sources of information.

UPDATE 9/8/2020:

The Bank of Washington Fifth Street branch, located at 2629 East Fifth Street, will be temporarily closed today, September 8, reopening tomorrow, September 9, for normal hours. We just learned that a drive-thru team member at this location tested positive for COVID-19. Upon learning of the diagnosis, we immediately took steps at the branch to close, sanitize and perform an extensive, professional, deep cleaning. We have a number of systems in place to help prevent the spread of the virus at each of our locations. The team member will be working with the Franklin County Health Department to notify their close contacts and is now quarantined at home. We want to be fully transparent with our customers, and hope you will join us in sending thoughts and prayers for a full recovery.

UPDATE 9/2/2020:

Lobbies are open for walk-in traffic, however, we strongly encourage you to use the drive-thru and online/mobile banking. Most banking activities can be done through these channels with increased safety. If you wish to come into one of the branches, we ask that you make an appointment to ensure that someone is available to help. Appointments can be made by calling 636-239-7831.

Inside our branch, you will notice a few changes we’ve implemented for your safety:
  • Plastic shields have been installed at various locations throughout the bank to protect you and our employees.
  • We ask that you respect all social distancing guidelines by maintaining at least a 6 ft. distance between you and other individuals. There are signs and floor decals to help with this important health guideline.
  • Masks are available, and we welcome you to wear a mask inside the bank.
  • There is plenty of hand sanitizer available and our staff has been well trained to regularly disinfect common area surfaces multiple times throughout the day.
  • For safety reasons, we are limiting the number of people inside each location.
Additionally, please help us all stay safe and do not enter our branches if:
  • You are experiencing Coronavirus symptoms such as: a cough, fever, sore throat, headache, fatigue, or shortness of breath,
  • You had close contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19,
  • You have been diagnosed with COVID-19, or
  • You or anyone in your household are waiting for COVID-19 test results.
We love seeing our customers, but we also know that your safety is a top priority.

Please note, our branch inside Schnucks is still temporarily closed, and our 14th Street location and 5th Street location hours are still extended to match the hours historically offered at our branch inside Schnucks.

UPDATE 5/1/2020:

Our goal is to remain open and serve our customers! At this time, we will continue with our current processes and procedures. Our lobbies will remain open for appointments only, our branch inside Schnucks will remain temporarily closed, and our 14th Street and 5th Street drive-thru hours will continue to be extended to match the hours historically offered at our branch inside Schnucks. As Missouri continues to loosen social distancing guidelines, we will continue to evaluate the situation.

UPDATE 4/2/2020:

Assistance for Small Businesses:

The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) prioritizes millions of Americans employed by small businesses by authorizing billions toward job retention and certain other expenses.

Small businesses and eligible nonprofit organizations, Veterans organizations, and Tribal businesses described in the Small Business Act, as well as individuals who are self-employed or are independent contractors, are eligible if they also meet program size standards.

Applications are no longer being accepted for the Paycheck Protection Program.

UPDATE 3/20/2020:

We are committed to serving our customers, and we will keep communication flowing with our community. With that, we have some updates to share with you:
  • Beginning Monday, March 23rd, our branch inside Schnucks will be closed temporarily and our employees there will be relocated to different branches.
  • Our 5 other branches will remain open, but lobby traffic will be limited to appointments only.
  • Drive-Thru hours will be extended at our 5th Street and 14th Street branches to accommodate the branch hours we historically provided inside Schnucks.
  • 5th Street and 14th Street branch drive-thru hours will be M-F 8:30am-7pm, Sat 8:30am-4pm and Sun 10am-3pm.
  • Gray Summit, Villa Ridge, and Main St. drive-thru hours will remain M-TH 8:30am-5pm, F 8:30am-6pm, Sat 8:30am-Noon, and closed on Sunday.
  • If you need to access your safe deposit box or require in-person service, please call 636-239-7831 to make an appointment during regular business hours.
Please know, we are prepared, ready to help you and understand this is a challenging time. The Bank of Washington is extremely well capitalized and your deposits are safe with us.

Three more things:
  1. All banking operations are still functioning. For example, any direct deposits or automatic payments will still be made, loans will still be processed, payments will still be accepted at the drive-thru windows.
  2. We highly recommend the use of cashless transactions at this point, as physical forms of money are not sanitized and contain germs just like any other surface.
  3. Deposits are insured with us through the FDIC. Click here for more FDIC insurance information.
