A wonderful family environment
The Bank of Washington has created a wonderful family environment, and that environment has proven to be very successful, not only for the bank but most importantly for the community it serves. My family is honored to be able to work with the team at the Bank and we are excited about being a small part of the next 140 years.

Professional, personable, helpful and knowledgeable
I have chosen the Bank of Washington because of their longevity in the banking business and the people. The employees are professional, personable, helpful and knowledgeable. They treat customers as they would wish to be treated. They go about business with integrity, a drive toward excellence and a willingness to roll with the changes in the industry to meet their customer's needs. Every person I’ve dealt with at the bank, from the tellers to the ownership is fantastic
My banking relationship began with a casual conversation with Buzz Eckelkamp. I knew he was a banker, and he knew I ran a business, but our conversations generally centered around our mutual service with the Washington Fire Department or arguing about BYU and Notre Dame football. Anyway, he suggested I consider a banking relationship with the Bank of Washington. Before then, I hadn’t really considered changing banks, but idea of working with a local institution, run by people I know and trust was appealing. I agreed to a meeting with Sam Unnerstall and, as they say, the rest is history! Every person I’ve dealt with at the bank, from the tellers to the ownership is fantastic. The service and expertise are unmatched. I can’t imagine trusting the financial needs of my business to another institution.

Customer since 1952
I opened my first savings account with the Bank of Washington on August 29, 1952, and still have that same account which I have been told is one of the oldest existing savings account numbers at the bank. Many of my family members continue to bank with the Bank of Washington as well.

Their flexibility played a large role in the development of my business
I have been banking with the Bank of Washington for over 35 years and continue to enjoy the experience. For this reason, I knew they were the bank I would work with in starting my engineering company. Their flexibility played a large role in the development of my business. After 10 years, I know that was the right decision and I look forward to working with them on future projects.

Breadth of knowledge and expertise that is unprecedented in our community
As I was growing up, visiting the Bank of Washington to see my grandfather and dad was part of my life. I got to know the employees as a young child, and now I have had the opportunity to work alongside those same employees for many years. I believe one of the strongest reasons to bank with the Bank of Washington is the longevity of our employees. They possess a tremendous amount of years of experience that brings to our customers a breadth of knowledge and expertise that is unprecedented in our community.

Competitive on all aspects of banking
My family has been working with Bank of Washington since before I was born. I continue banking with them because I have never had a reason to want to go elsewhere. Their personal service and involvement in the community are only a couple of the reasons I am still banking with them. The people at Bank of Washington, from top to bottom, care about the well being and success of their customers and the entire community. They are, and have always been, competitive on all aspects of banking.

They have always been competitive while maintaining hometown, community services
I like the spirit of the hometown bank. Since I opened my business in 1990, they have always been competitive while maintaining hometown, community services. They are a leader in being the first to offer cutting edge large bank capabilities (ex. online banking, mobile apps, mobile banking, remote deposit capture) with the one-on-one attention of a small town bank.

I like doing business with people who care so much about the community
What makes me choose the Bank of Washington as my bank? The aptly named “Bank of Washington” is, I think, just that. While other banks come and go “The Bank” (as my kids simply call it) is Washington’s bank. As I was growing up, I was lucky to be acquainted with guys like Ed Maschmann, Steve Lochirco, Elmer Heidmann, Bob Vossbrink, the Eckelkamp family and other Bank leaders. They were successful businessmen and leaders in the community, yet they were always very friendly and approachable, even when I was a child. I have been told that my grandfather did some legal work for the Bank years ago, before L. B. and Bill Eckelkamp got out of law school. Knowing some of the Bank’s history and those who have been involved with it makes me proud to be a bank customer. I also appreciate that the Eckelkamp family has always been very generous to area churches, schools, hospital and numerous other charities. I like doing business with people who care so much about the community. The Bank also provides great service. I like to go inside at the main branch every chance I get for my deposits, withdrawals, etc., rather than use the ATM or online banking. As I enter the building and walk to the teller line I hear “Hi Dave” from at least 4 to 5 people, and they make me feel like I’m one of Bank’s most important customers.

Sincere desire to provide outstanding customer service
My earliest memories of the Bank of Washington include my mother and father hosting many gatherings at our home for bank customers and employees. There were numerous employee Christmas parties and car dealership celebrations. Many of these same customers are still with the Bank of Washington, and I believe this is because of our employees’ tremendous amount of experience and sincere desire to provide outstanding customer service. Thank you for your confidence in us and we will continue to strive to exceed your banking needs.
