Jess Bowen, 34, is the assistant vice president of retail banking at Bank of Washington. She earned an associate degree in business management from East Central College and graduated from the School of bank Management. She's an alum of Union High School.

First job? Arby's.

Favorite local hangout? Olivino's at the moment.

Quarantine hobby? I refined my online shopping skills.

Biggest accomplishment at your current job? My promotion to assistant vice president. Being able to mentor those I work with in this ever-changing industry has been very rewarding.

Best advice for a young professional? Keep learning and growing. The journey may not always be easy, but it is worth it!

Who is your dream mentor? I try to learn from each person because I believe people are placed in your life for a reason.

Most surprising fact about you? I don't really have one. 'm kind of boring in real life.

Most rewarding volunteer experience? I do Relay for Life of Franklin County, Meals on Wheels, and SFB Shop & earn. Having a sister fighting her courageous battle has made Relay for Life the most rewarding by far.

Something you hope to accomplish in your career? I want to continue setting goals for myself and find ways to accomplish them. If I have made a positive impact on someone else's career, that is an accomplishment for me.
