Washington, MO – Peggy Lauber and Shane Nunn with Diamond Cardinal Processing, LLC (DCP, LLC) recently earned their Certified Banking Security Manager (CBSM) credentials through the SBS Institute. DCP, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bank of Washington located in Washington, MO, providing cybersecurity and technology services for the Bank of Washington, United Bank of Union and Citizens National Bank of Greater St. Louis.

The SBS Institute is uniquely designed to serve the banking industry by providing industry-specific cyber education. Their certifications prepare financial institution professionals to address cybersecurity threats and regulations. Lauber and Nunn join an elite group of financial service professionals who have demonstrated their commitment to strong cybersecurity practices by earning this cyber-specific certification.

The CBSM designation acknowledges licensed professionals who have demonstrated their experience and proficiency in implementing and managing an information security program. It has at its foundation internationally applicable standards of practice, knowledge, and ethics, differentiating licensed professionals who have taken the steps necessary to become certified. The CBSM syllabus includes a series of lectures, assignments, and a final exam covering the subjects of security and technology trends, laws and regulations, information security programs, risk assessments, operationalizing security, and audits.

“Cybersecurity is an ever-evolving threat,” stated Nunn. “This certification is an affirmation of how serious and committed we are to ensuring the integrity and security of our information systems as we provide technology services to Bank of Washington, United Bank of Union and Citizens National Bank of Greater St. Louis.”

Lauber joined the Bank of Washington in 1987 as a bookkeeper before transferring to data processing, then joining DCP, LLC. Her background in financial services is extensive, particularly with network administration, information security, business continuity, and vendor management. She has earned multiple certifications in technology security from the American Institution of Banking, Missouri Bankers Association, the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking, and BKD, LLP. She is a member of the Missouri Bankers Association and the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center.

Lauber is a 1984 graduate of St. Francis Borgia Regional High School and attended East Central College. She is a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Villa Ridge, a member of the Daughters of Isabella in Union, Missouri, and volunteers for Meals on Wheels. She and her husband Dan reside in Union and have two children, Ashley and Matthew.

“Working with three banks through DCP is great. All three banks are strongly devoted to their employees and their communities,” stated Lauber. “Being a part of these organizations and engaging with them has been a wonderful experience for me. We are not a team because we work together. We are a team because we respect, trust, and care for each other.”

Nunn joined DCP, LLC in 2012. He has 8 years of experience in banking technology, with over 27 years in technology and security as a whole. Nunn holds many certifications including certifications with Cisco, Microsoft, Netware, Brocade, Foundry, and VMWare. He started as a programmer before progressing to infrastructure related roles such as network administration, network engineering, IT architecture, and management. He is a member of the Missouri Bankers Association and ISACA, an international professional association focused on IT governance.

Nunn is a graduate of Bartlesville High School in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, attended Lindenwood University, graduated from the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking Technology Management program and the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking Technology Security program, and is a 9 year veteran of the US Army Reserve. He volunteers with Meals on Wheels and is a football coach at St. Francis Borgia Regional High School, treasurer for the Washington Junior Football League, secretary of the Four Rivers Youth Football League, and 2-time winning chef for the Bank of Washington’s United Way Chili Cook-Off team! He and his wife Cherity reside in Washington and have 4 children.

“Living, working and having a positive effect in the community is very fulfilling,” stated Nunn. “I truly appreciate the family atmosphere with all of my coworkers. The freedom we, as employees, have been given to operate and contribute to the success of each institution is a direct reflection of the old adage ‘a wise man will make more opportunities than he finds.’ We are encouraged to be innovative and create opportunities to truly transform the banking experience for our customers. I feel blessed to be part of these organizations.”

Bank of Washington, United Bank of Union and Citizens National Bank of Greater St. Louis are independently owned community banks in the St. Louis region with rich histories of providing strong customer service and community reinvestments.
