Published: September 30, 2015

Tim Tobben portrait Tim Tobben, 32, joined the Bank of Washington in 2009 as a credit review officer. In 2013, Tobben took a new role and was promoted to assistant vice president - commercial lending.

"Tim has done an exceptional job in helping develop an entirely new credit department within our bank," said Buzz Eckelkamp, bank president, who nominated Tobben for the Outstanding Young Professional Award.

"Since he helped establish the department, it has grown tremendously, bringing in new jobs for our community and enriching bank processes."

Eckelkamp said Tobben consistently provides outstanding customer service by putting his whole heart into ensuring the best experience for customers.

"Tim goes above and beyond the call of duty, not only for external customers, but also by helping others within the bank and by constantly taking opportunities to learn new things," Eckelkamp said. "What sets him apart from other young professionals is his ability to always put other people first. His sincerity is genuine and authentic.

"Tim wears his heart on his sleeve, always has a smile on his face and works hard for his customers and for the bank. He continues to grow, learn and contribute his talents . . . always accepting new challenges and committed to ensuring success."

Tobben is a member of the St. Francis Borgia Regional High School Athletic Association and the Washington Knights of Columbus.

He serves as a treasurer of the Franklin County Area United Way Board and is a member of the Washington Area Chamber of Commerce's Young Professionals Group.

He also serves on a committee for the Alzheimer's Association and has participated in a number of other volunteer activities at the bank.

Cara Achenbach, owner of Midwest Equipment Leasing and Achenbach/Hall Properties, said she has worked with Tobben for years and described him as a reliable, focused, ambitious and intelligent person of outstanding character.

"As a business owner, you concentrate so much of your energy on growing your business. We've worked with Tim for years and what a pleasure it has been to work with a lender who shares your passion for growth, job creation and business innovation," Achenbach said.

"Beyond his years of lending experience and his high level of integrity, he demonstrates enthusiasm and a drive for success," she said. "He offers realistic and concrete ideas for tackling problems."
