Recently, the U.S. Federal Government began delivering Economic Impact Payments, also known as "stimulus checks" to eligible Americans. We expect that electronic stimulus payments will be available in Bank of Washington accounts as soon as the end of March 2021.

Am I eligible to receive a stimulus check?

How will I know if I received my stimulus check electronically?


You are able to check your account balances with our Digital Banking platform, online or through our app. You can also set up an alert to notify you when deposits post to your account. 

If I receive a paper check, how do I deposit it without visiting a branch?


If you want to deposit a check electronically, start by logging into Digital Banking with your iOS or Android device, then click:

  1. Menu in the lower right.
  2. Move Money
  3. Deposit Checks
  4. Follow the on screen instructions
What happens to my direct deposit payment if my Bank of Washington account is closed?


If an account is closed and we do not have another account for you at our bank to direct the payment to, we send those payments back to the government, which will then be mailed as a check to you.

How can I help protect myself from scams related to stimulus checks?


The IRS is not going to call, email or text you to get information. Do not give your personal information to anyone. The number one thing to know is that you don't need to do anything as long as you filed taxes for 2019 and/or 2020.
